In 2018, the Japan Anniversary Association officially dubbed May 27th Dragon Quest Day. Since it is officially May 27, 2022 in Japan now, there is a new video starring creator Yuji Horii discussing the series and things to come. Most notably, he also brings up Dragon Quest XII and Dragon Quest Builders’ mobile port. The former is still in development, while the latter is available worldwide now.

The video begins with Horii at Dragon Quest Island, the attraction at Nijigen no Mori in Awajishima, Japan. As he walks around the attraction, which has been open for a year, he shows off areas like the inn.

After a quick walk around the park. Horii offers updates on upcoming Dragon Quest games. He first noted that a few are planned for 2022. That’s when he said the Dragon Quest Builders mobile port will be released “very soon.” However, the game is available immediately worldwide. People can go to the App Store or Google Play to get it. A temporary launch discount is in effect until June 9, 2022, bringing the price down to $21.99. People can also buy add-ons that add an Astronomy Set, Boss Monster Model Set, Magic Carpet, and Pixel Ring.

During this portion, Horii also mentioned Dragon Quest X Offline and Dragon Quest Treasures among the upcoming 2022 titles.

At the 1:43 mark, Horii brings up Dragon Quest XII. He doesn’t offer any details about its development or a release window. Rather, he only says, “We’re working hard on building Dragon Quest XII, but there’ll be plenty more Dragon Quest to tide you over until it’s finished.”

Here’s the official Dragon Quest Day 2022 video. If you turn on closed captions, an English translation is available.

Dragon Quest Builders is now available for mobile devices. People can also get it on the PlayStation 4, Vita, and Nintendo Switch worldwide. In Japan, it appeared on the PlayStation 3 as well.
