SNK is no stranger to arcade compilations. Recently, we’ve been lucky enough to snag Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol. 1 and the Art of Fighting Anthology for under $20. However, most of their collections are from popular franchises like Metal Slug and Samurai Showdown. This leaves orphaned NeoGeo games like Magician Lord, Ninja Combat and Blue’s Journey without a home. Sure, you can pick them off the Virtual Console, but wouldn’t a single disc of NeoGeo ROMs be a better deal?
Months ago, SNK quietly announced SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 as a PlayStation 2 and PSP game. Now the ESRB lists it as a Wii game too. There still aren’t any details about what games SNK plans on adding in Arcade Classics Vol. 1, but if Vol. 1 exists they are at the very least thinking about Vol. 2. So if you don’t see Baseball Stars 2 the first time around it’s likely to appear in the future.
Update: Wait a second someone here already knew SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 was coming to the Wii. Levi even mentioned it here before! I forgot about the Wii version referring to SNK's original TGS line up where the collection was only announced as a PSP / PS2 game. 4Cr knew about the Wii version too and they dug up the info that the collection has 16 titles. Yeah!
