Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival Announced for Nintendo Switch

Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival will release for the Nintendo Switch in 2022. The title was announced during the February 9, 2022 Nintendo Direct presentation. This included a short trailer, which provided a look at some of the songs that will appear in the game. This includes “Megalovania” from Undertale and “Gurenge” by LiSA, which is one of the openings for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime. Additionally, the title will feature a total of 76 songs. A practice mode will also be available for players.

An online mode will be available as well. Players will be able to perform together in a four player cooperative mode called Don-chan Band. A versus mode will also be available in the form of the Great Drum Toy War mode. Players will also be able to customize their individual player avatar. Several of these cosmetic options were shown in the trailer. This ranges from entire costumes, to accessories players can choose from. The game will also feature a paid in-game subscription service. Subscribing to this service will give consumers access to over 500 songs. The service will be available at launch.
