Nioh 2 originally released in March 2020. It then reappeared as Nioh 2: The Complete Edition a little less than a year later in February 2021. The Complete Edition includes all post-release DLC, such as the Tengu’s Disciple, Darkness in the Capital, and The First Samurai expansion. Prior to this update, Koei Tecmo confirmed Nioh 2 hit the 2 million unit milestone in April 2021.

There’s no word as to whether or not the series could continue. When Head of Team Ninja Fumihiko Yasuda spoke about potential features the team would like to bring into a future Nioh game, he noted development on the Nioh series had paused.
Nioh 2 is immediately available on the PlayStation 4 worldwide. Nioh 2: The Complete Edition is available for PlayStation 5 and PC.
