There’s trouble with the FFXIV Grubhub promotion involving an Eat Pizza emote. As part of a The Game Awards 2021 offer, people who ordered between December 9-15, 2021 were supposed to get a code if they spent $15 or more before fees, taxes, and tip. On December 17, 2021, the code would have been emailed out. However, people are reporting not receiving codes. Since then, Square Enix and Grubhub offered details about contacting support.
The Grubhub website for the FFXIV Eat Pizza emote FAQs covers three topics. The first is what to do if someone didn’t get the email on December 17, 2021. That notes to contact the company’s support with your Grubhub account email and order number. It also said that, “There was no limit to the number of customers who could receive the Eat Pizza emote during the promo period of 7:30pm ET on December 9 to 11:59pm ET on December 15.” It claimed there was no lottery system to determine how to dole out codes.
However, while the FAQs note “there was no limit,” the fine print at the bottom of the page mentioned “limited supply available.” As shown in the screenshot of the website, which was taken at 10am ET on December 23, 2021, the text read, “Limited suply available (expect high demand). Final Fantasy XIV Online “Eat Pizza” emote item codes will be assigned on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
Aside from directing people to the Grubhub site’s FAQs, Square Enix didn’t offer an official statement.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC.
