pc game of the year 2021 unpacking

Winner: Unpacking

Unpacking presents a fascinating way to learn about someone’s life without ever seeing them. And making compelling gameplay out of something most of us don’t love doing in real life? That’s truly an accomplishment. It’s intimate. It’s very chill. And there’s really nothing else like it. Congratulations to Unpacking, our PC Game of the Year 2021!

valheim

Valheim

Valheim shows the value of an engaging gameplay loop. Is it the best-looking game? Nah. But its tightly-crafted action (and hey, also farming) captures you and doesn’t let go. It’s a gem in the increasingly-crowded survival game genre, and its developers look to be adding more and more to the game for years to come.

monster hunter stories 2

Monster Hunter Stories 2

There’s just something so delightful about Monster Hunter Stories 2. There’s a whole multiplayer component and a post-game grind to build the best monsties, but even without all that? It’s just a fun campaign to play through. It’s bright, it’s friendly, and it’s always tempting to grab every last egg.
