Yoshitake Suzuki will be taking over as the director of all upcoming Monster Hunter Rise content. Revealed on the official Monster Hunter Twitter page, Capcom previously revealed Suzuki will be the director of the upcoming Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion. The previous director was Yasunori Ichinose, who directed Monster Hunter Freedom, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, and Monster Hunter Generations.

Suzuki served as a game designer on past titles in the series, including Monster Hunter World and its Iceborne expansion. He also worked on the Monster Hunter Rise demo.
Capcom announced the upcoming expansion Sunrise during the September 2021 Nintendo Direct. It will include new hunting actions, quest ranks, story details, and monsters. During the 2021 Tokyo Game Show, it was announced that Master Rank will be available in Sunbreak, along with a new player hub. The giant crab beast Shogun Seanatur will make its return to the mainline series, and players will need to deal with the beast as they progress through Master Rank.
Monster Hunter Rise is currently available on the Nintendo Switch. A demo is now available for the PC version which will release on January 12, 2022. The Sunbreak expansion will be released in summer 2022.
