Nodame Cantabile on the Wii doesn’t share much in common with the Nintendo DS game and for good reason. Tapping to the rhythm doesn’t work without a touch screen to tap. Instead Namco Bandai went with the mimicry route for Nodame Cantabile: Dream Orchestra. It’s a logical choice for a conductor since the Wii remote looks like a baton. However, I never thought I would act out playing a cello or an oboe with it. The video explains how this and four other instruments work with over dramatized motions.
While I’m not sold on using the remote as a flute, I bet Nodame Cantabile: Dream Orchestra could be a good party game when you get four people in a room playing imaginary instruments. Including fifty songs and a handful of mini games doesn’t hurt either.
