In an interview with Brazilian media outlet AdoroCinema, Norman Reedus revealed that a Death Stranding sequel is currently in negotiations. However, outside of mentioning that negotiations for a Death Stranding sequel are currently underway, little else has been revealed. Additionally, an article from IGN Brazil reveals that it is currently unknown whether or not Reedus could have been potentially referencing Death Stranding Director’s Cut. AdoroCinema is a sister site with IGN Brazil, and this information was revealed through an interview with Reedus about The Walking Dead. The interview ends with Reedus talking about Death Stranding, in which he revealed that negotiations were currently underway.
In July 2021, it was announced that Death Stranding sales had officially topped five million units worldwide. Kojima Productions remains optimistic about the Director’s Cut release of the game, which will include new stealth missions and methods of transportation. A trailer was released during gamescom 2021, focusing on these new additions.
Additionally, Death Stranding Director’s Cut will support cross-saves between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This means that PlayStation 4 users will be able to carry their data over to Death Stranding Director’s Cut.
Death Stranding is immediately available on the PlayStation 4 and PC. Death Stranding Director’s Cut will release for the PlayStation 5 on September 24, 2021.
