After an initial delay, the new release date for Horizon Forbidden West was announced during the gamescom Opening Night Live 2021 presentation. Potential players should mark their calendars, because the game is now set to release on February 18, 2022 on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Pre-orders will begin on September 2, 2021.
Along with this news of the long-awaited sequel, it was also announced that the Enhanced Performance Patch for Horizon Zero Dawn is now live on the PlayStation 5. This enables 60fps as an option.

Horizon Zero Dawn originally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2017. The sequel, Forbidden West, was initially given a 2021 release date, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During Sony’s State of Play presentation in May 2021, a 14-minute gameplay demo was shown.
The Horizon Forbidden West PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 release date is February 18, 2022.
