Capcom pushed the release date for Resident Evil Re:Verse back into 2022. The announcement came from the official Resident Evil Twitter account. Capcom delayed it due to wanting to provide a smooth gameplay experience for players. Additionally, the company will provide more details regarding the new launch window at a later date.
During Capcom’s E3 2021 presentation, it was revealed that Resident Evil Re:Verse would release sometime in July 2021. It will be an entirely new multiplayer game with a player-versus-player-centric mode. Players will have the opportunity to select prominent characters from the Resident Evil universe and use them to take each other on. Additionally, once players obtain enough kills, they can transform their characters into iconic B.O.W.s.
Four to six players can engage in this strictly player-versus-player game. A beta was previously made available in April 2021, which allowed for participants to experience the game firsthand. Characters like Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Claire Redfield were available to use during the beta period.
Resident Evil Re:Verse will also be available for free for those that purchased Resident Evil Village. The game will also be sold separately.
Resident Evil Re:Verse has been delayed, with its new release scheduled for sometime in 2022. It will appear on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
