Konami Isn’t Attending E3 2021, Is Developing Projects

Konami E3 2021

Konami announced on its official Twitter account that it will not be at E3 2021. The company stated it will not be ready for E3 “due to timing.” However, Konami assured its audience that it is working on several key projects, which it will update people about in the coming months.

In the past decade, Konami has not developed or published video games at the same pace as its formative years. However, it released collections of classic titles in the Contra and Castlevania series.

With E3 coming in June 2021, partners and sponsors have been announcing their affiliation with and intentions for the expo. Currently, the website for E3 2021 only lists its partnering exhibitors and sponsors as Nintendo, Microsoft, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Capcom, Warner Bros Games, Koch Media, and Konami. It is not clear if Konami’s inclusion in the list is an error or solely a supporting role as a sponsor without an actual presence. Square Enix confirmed its affiliation with the upcoming event in April 2021, though it is not listed on the website’s main page.

E3 2021 will take place from June 12-15, 2021. After canceling the event in 2020, it will return this year in digital format.
