As the weather gets hotter and the days get longer, why not cool down with a refreshing Saiko Soda or two from the Pokemon Center? If you can’t get your hands on the actual drink, you can buy one of the five new additions to the Saiko Soda series of Pokemon plushes. They will be available from May 8, 2021 in physical stores, and those ordering online can get them from as early as May 6.
The Pokemon who will get Saiko Soda-themed plushes are:
- Oddish
- Porygon
- Raichu
- Jigglypuff
- Larvitar
Each plush will cost 1430 JPY, which is around $13.10.
The Saiko Soda Campaign was only available in in Japan for a limited time and in limited quantity. It ran in May 2018, but merchandise based on the designs continued to appear afterwards. For example, in 2019, a mini hand towel and a Litwick gashapon figure based on the Saiko Soda series were released. Illustrator and designer F*Kaori designed the retro 80’s looks for the Saiko Soda line of Pokemon plushes and other goods.
Speaking of Pokemon nostalgia, New Pokemon Snap, the updated version of the 1999 Nintendo 64 game Pokemon Snap, releases worldwide on April 30, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch. A merchandise line for the game will release on the same date. As well, you can digitally tour the Lental Region online.
The Saiko Soda Pokemon plushes will be available online from May 6 and in physical stores from May 8.
