Taiko no Tatsujin: Pop Tap Beat Drops the Beat on Apple Arcade

Back in 2019, Bandai Namco trademarked the name “Taiko no Tatsujin: Pop Tap Beat” in Europe. Now the game is available worldwide via Apple Arcade. People who subscribe have a means of drumming along with Don and Katsu anywhere, either alone or with other subscribers.

As with all Taiko no Tatsujin games, you play the drum in time with various songs. Each track has four difficulty levels available. It even kicks things off with an English theme song. You can customize your drum with items you earn. There is also an optional online multiplayer mode.

This marks the fourth localized Taiko no Tatsujin game in recent years. First, both Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session appeared on the Switch and PS4, respectively. Then, at the end of 2020, two of the 3DS RPG entries appeared worldwide on the Switch in Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack.

Taiko no Tatsujin” Pop Tap Beat is available on Apple iOS devices, like iPhones or Apple TVs, for Apple Arcade subscribers. Due to it being an Apple Arcade game, everything is available at once and there are no additional purchases. The service costs $4.99 per month, though there is a one month free trial period available.
