Sun-Star Stationery will release pencils inspired by Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba in April 2021 in Japan. The pencils and the attachments resemble the Nichirin Blades used by characters from the popular franchise. Once released, the pencils will be available at Sun-Star’s Demon Slayer web store for 550 yen (~$5) each. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
The bodies of the round 2B pencils are the same color as the blades owned by several members of the Demon Slayer Corps. Each item will also come with a covering cap modeled after the blade handle and a paper rack to store it like an actual sword.
A total of five colors will be available in the collection. They are based on the blades owned by Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Kanao Tsuyuri, Giyu Tomioka, and Kyojuro Rengoku.
Nichirin Blades are katana swords forged specifically for Demon Slayer Corps members to slay demons in the franchise’s universe. The blades are also known to change their colors once wielded by their eventual owners. Bandai revealed replicas of Nichirin Blades owned by Tanjiro Kamado, Kyojuro Rengoku, and Shinobu Kocho. Each sword replica will also come with speakers that produce sound effects and voice lines from the anime show.
The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train movie will arrive at North American theaters in April 2021 and digital storefronts in June 2021. The movie won three awards at the 44th Japan Academy Film Prize, including the Best Animation of the Year. The second season of the TV anime is slated to appear in 2021.
