There will be another place to grab the PC version of Phantasy Star Online 2 soon. The Epic Games Store will offer PSO2 too starting on February 17, 2021. It will support cross-platform play with all other PC versions and the Xbox One release.
The Epic Games Store version of PSO2 will be up to date with the other versions of the game as well. Sega’s announcement confirmed it will include the Episode 6 Chapter 6 update that adds the Scion Luster class. However, the announcement didn’t note if it will follow the same sort of account linking process as the Steam version did with the Windows 10 and Xbox One ones.
This will be the third PC storefront to offer PSO2. When the MMORPG appeared outside Japan, it was only available on the Xbox One. Then, it showed up on the Microsoft Store at the end of May 2020. The Steam version then followed a few months later in August 2020. That’s also when we learned the over 30 countries in which it’d be playable.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is available on the Xbox One and PC worldwide. People in Japan can also play it on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is in development and will appear on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC in Japan in 2021. PSO2 will make its Epic Games Store debut on February 17, 2021.
