New Sword Art Online Game, Anime and Manga News Coming This Month

An upcoming livestream promises some new Sword Art Online game, anime, and manga information for 2021. The special program for the multi-media franchise will be at least one hour long, with plenty of guests in attendance. [Thanks, Dengeki!] The stream will go live on January 27, 2021, at 8 p.m. (JST), 6 a.m. (EST), and 3 a.m. (PST).

The upcoming show’s title is “2021 Special Broadcast: What’s Going to Happen with Sword Art Online This Year?!” The livestream promises fans of the series new info on what’s in store for 2021. The voice actors of Kirito, Ronye, and Tiese will guest throughout the program with special appearances by other important figures, as well. The combined livestream will encompass three pillars of the series’ media: Sword Art Online games, manga, and anime.

Sword Art Online game anime manga livestream announcement

Back in November 2020, we heard that there would be a new Sword Art Online movie in 2021. The film will be animated by A-1 Pictures, and is a retelling of the first arc of Sword Art Online: Progressive. Based on the livestream’s description, we may even hear more info about the movie.

The livestream revealing what fans can expect for the series in 2021 will begin on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at 8pm JST/6am ET/3am PT. The show will be at least one hour long.
