New Pokemon Snap Screenshots Show Pokemon Like Scorbunny, Squirtle and Alolan Raichu

New Pokemon Snap is definitely on the way, and a round of screenshots help give a better idea of which characters will appear. Following the April 2021 release date announcement and new trailer, a website appeared with even more screenshots looking at Pokemon, gameplay, and the Photodex.

As a reminder, Nintendo pointed out that every player is a new Lental region photographer. You’re in an area where Pokemon from throughout the series live, and you’ll be helping out Professor Mirror from the Laboratory of Ecology and Natural Sciences and his research assistant, Rita, by taking pictures of the different characters you see.

First, here are a bunch of New Pokemon Snap screenshots showing off some environments and characters. Each of the captions note which Pokemon or new characters appear in the images.

There are also two pictures that show what the photo scoring process and Photodex will look like. When looking at a photo in New Pokemon Snap, things like the Pokemon’s pose, the size of it in the image, the direction of the shot, the placement in the picture, if any other Pokemon are around, and the background will all factor into your score. Professor Mirror will also offer a tip at the bottom, and you could compare it to an old Photodex photo. As for the Photodex itself, it shows details about the Pokemon and the example page shown offers four images of an Aipom with different star scores assigned to them.

New Pokemon Snap will appear on the Nintendo Switch worldwide on April 30, 2021.
