2020 Most Downloaded PlayStation Store Games Were Call of Duty and FIFA Entries

Every year, Sony shares the most downloaded PlayStation Store games for different regions. Certain staples, like entries in the Call of Duty and FIFA series, Grand Theft Auto V, and Minecraft all tend to retain their top spots. The figures for 2020 are in and, as expected, in both North America and Europe Call of Duty and FIFA have maintained their reigns with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and FIFA 21. Though, when it came to the PlayStation VR, nothing could beat Beat Saber.

In nearly every region and on almost every platform, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was the most downloaded PlayStation Store game in 2020. The only exception was the PlayStation 4 PlayStation Store in Europe, where both FIFA 21 and FIFA 20 managed to keep Call of Duty out of the top spots. On the PlayStation 4, both the 2020 entry in the series and 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare managed to stay in the top five. The only first-party release to break into the top-five on the PS4 was Ghost of Tsushima in North America.

The lists for PS5 most downloaded PlayStation Store games in 2020 look a bit more uniform across regions. In both North America and Europe, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War came first, with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales in second and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in third.
