The Pokemon Sword and Shield New Year’s card illustration will be available to purchase as a clear file starting January 9, 2021. Game Freak, the developers of the Pokemon series, released this illustration to usher in the new year. Now consumers will be able to own this illustration physically. However, this product can only be purchased through the Pokemon Center online shop for ¥264 or roughly $2. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Other recently announced Pokemon merchandise include a unique new cushion modeled after the ghostly Gengar. This special pillow will allow consumers to rest their head inside of the Pokemon’s mouth while relaxing on its 170cm-long tongue. However, this unique looking piece of merchandise has already sold out and it is unclear if a second wave of pre-orders will be available outside of Japan.
Pokemon Sword and Shield are immediately available for the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, all new cartridges come bundled with both the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra expansions.
