Groundwork of Evangelion Digest Will Be Available in Early 2021

Groundwork of Evangelion Digest, another detailed digest of original drawings from the production of Neon Genesis Evangelion, is now available to pre-order. This newest book in the series and will cost ¥3,500, or roughly $34. The digest will release on January 23, 2021. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Ground of Evangelion Digest will contain illustrations from episodes one to twenty-six of the series. In addition, the collection includes layout correction sheets, partial timesheets, and original drawings from this series of episodes. While the contents of the Groundwork of Evangelion Digest are excerpts from previous Groundwork of Evangelion releases, there are a handful of new pages that are now available in color.

Neon Genesis Evangelion originally began its run in Japan in October 1995. Evangelion: Death (True)2, the edit of 1997’s Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth, appeared in 1998. The End of Evangelion appeared in 1997. The Rebuild of Evangelion films, which offer a different take on the story, began airing in Japan in 2007 with Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) AloneEvangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo appeared in 2009 and 2012.

Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 will release on January 23, 2021.
