Sega Is Recruiting Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 Players for a Special Online Event in Japan

Sega is hosting a special online event for Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 on December 20, 2020 in Japan. The company is now recruiting players to join for a chance to play with and against celebrity Puyo Puyo Tetris fans. [Thanks, 4Gamer.]

The celebrity guests include fashion model and television personality Meru Nukumi alongside actor and performer Akira Takano. Comedian and entertainer Kazuhito Kosaka, who you might know as Pikotaro (the “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen” guy), will also be there as one of the guests. However, since he still insists that Pikotaro is someone else, he’ll appear as his Daimaou Kosaka personality. Japanese Tetris legend and #1 Puyo Puyo Tetris pro, Amemiya Taiyou, will be there to talk about Puyo Tetris. The idol Yurika Tachibana will act as MC for the online event as the Puyo Puyo official supporter.

The Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 Online Event will take place on December 20, 2020. It will be available to watch on YouTube Live and Periscope via Twitter starting at 6pm JST. Those interested in signing up for a chance to join the online event can sign up here. The deadline is December 11, 2020, at 11:59 pm JST.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 will release for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One on December 8, 2020. Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 will arrive a couple of days later in Japan on December 10, 2020, for the PS5, PS4, Switch, Xbox X, and Xbox One. The Steam version will follow later.
