A new Monster Hunter World mod lets an Elder Dragon engaging in some cosplay. Aki created a new retexture for Fatalis that makes the Black Dragon into a purple one: Spyro the Dragon. It is a recolor that can easily be dragged and dropped into the PC version of the game to provide people with an idea of what Spyro might look like all grown up.
Aki shared a video looking at how the Spyro the Fatalis Monster Hunter World mod looks in-game. Since this cutscene offers a better look at the Elder Dragon from multiple angles, it provides an opportunity to see how the recolor changes the look of its spikes, wings horns, and scales.
This seems to among the first Monster Hunter World mods to change Fatalis’ look so drastically. A previous mod by Wasteland Jene, True Black Fatalis appeared first and accentuated his existing appearance, while also swapping its background music for some other themes.
Fatalis was added as a part of the last Monster Hunter World: Iceborne free title update. The dragon has been a part of the series since the original Monster Hunter on the PlayStation 2. In a Siliconera interview with Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, he spoke about the “challenging and unique monster.”
Monster Hunter World is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
