Sucker Punch confirmed Ghost of Tsushima PS5 backwards compatibility. But more than that, the developer went into some of the things people can expect when they play the PS4 game on the next gen system. Basically, according to the developer’s Twitter account, you won’t skip a beat when you play and will have an optimized experience.
The tweet confirmed four things. First, the game will be playable on PS5s at launch. Second, the save data will be compatible on the new system, so all you’ll have to do is send it there via one of the many methods Sony announced. Next, it will hit 60fps with what Sucker Punch called “Game Boost.” Finally, there will be shorter loading times.
This isn’t the only recent news and development for Ghost of Tsushima. On October 16, 2020, people will be able to update the game to 1.1. This patch will add a number of incentives to return to the game. For example, people will be able to recruit (and pet) the dogs they meet. The cooperative Ghost of Tsushima Legends experience will be added. You can also use your completed save files to start a new game plus adventure.
Ghost of Tsushima is available for the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 5 will launch on November 12, 2020 in Australia, Japan, North America, and South America, then show up worldwide on November 19, 2020. Ghost of Tsushima PS5 compatibility is assured at launch.
