Get ready to return to your villages. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fall update will show up on September 30, 2020. As expected, this is the Halloween update with everything that entails. It means Jack’s Halloween event on October 31st every year  and special decorations. But, it also means costumes, growing pumpkins, a dream update that lets you revisit places you’ve already been, and the ability to perform reactions in-game with NookLink and your mobile device starting in October 2020. After this, the next update will arrive in late November 2020.

The Halloween elements are as expected. After the update, the Able Sisters will sell Halloween costumes. You’ll want to buy those, and things like contacts and body paint with Nook Miles, to prepare for Halloween. (It’s not mandatory, though.) You can also collect candy. When Jack comes around, you can that to him and your neighbors to get rewards.

The pumpkins add farming. Leif and Nook’s Cranny sell them. Players plant them. Once harvested, they’re a new crafting resource for the new recipes. (We’ll have to wait and see if people can eat them too.)

Here’s the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fall update video looking at the new gameplay elements and items you can take part in and collect.

Also, here’s the Ring Fit Adventure Ring Con that will be given away to all players.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for the Nintendo Switch. The Fall update will arrive on September 30, 2020, with another arriving in late November 2020. Mario furniture will arrive in March 2020.
