Funimation added its latest batch of anime from Aniplex of America, including God Eater and Record of Grancrest War, that is now available on the streaming service.
God Eater (2015)
The God Eater anime adaptation by Ufotable originally aired in Japan in July 2015. The 13-episode anime is set in the Far East in the year 2071. The anime basically follows the first God Eater game. More specifically, it follows the first arc so that’s about a third of the game with its own thing going on after. It features an original character named Lenka Utsugi, who serves as the main protagonist. Other characters from Fenrir also show up in the anime, including Lindow, Sakuya, Soma, and Alisa.
Record of Grancrest War (2018)
The Record of Grancrest War anime by A-1 Pictures is based on the light novel by Ryo Mizuno, best known as the creator of Record of Lodoss War. The action fantasy anime originally aired in Japan in January 2018 and ended with a span of 24 episodes in June 2018. The story follows a wandering knight named Theo Cornaro, who must use the power of his “Crest” to suppress the Chaos, energy that twists the laws of nature, from taking over the land.
In addition to God Eater and Record of Grancrest War, other new anime added to Funimation in the latest batch include Oreshura (2013), Nana’s Buried Treasure (2014), and World Conquest Zvezda Plot (2014).
