If you’re planning to get a PlayStation 5, but happened to skip the PS4, don’t worry; Sony’s got you covered. The PlayStation Plus Collection is a big bundle of “generation defining PS4 games” available to download for all PS5 owners with an active PS Plus subscription at launch, all for free.
The games in the PlayStation Plus Collection run the spectrum of major releases. PS4 exclusives like Bloodborne and God of War headline the list, but other large multiplatform titles get representation, including Battlefield 1 and Resident Evil VII: Biohazard.
The PS Plus Collection represents a big value-add for new PS5 owners, though there’s a good chance existing PS4 owners might own or have access to the listed titles, since many of them have appeared before as part of PS Plus’ monthly free game offering. For those owners, the announcement functions as explicit confirmation that the listed games are compatible with the PS5. Whether the titles will benefit from enhancements due to being on PS5, however, remains an open question.
Here’s the full list of PlayStation Plus Collection games, based on the announcement trailer:
- Battlefield 1
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Bloodborne
- Days Gone
- Detroit: Become Human
- Fallout 4
- Final Fantasy XV
