The mobile strategy RPG Dragon Quest Tact released last month in Japan, but there’s a good chance it will come West as it was trademarked in the U.S. on July 14, 2020, and in Europe on July 7, 2020.
Square Enix first trademarked Dragon Quest Tact in the West back in March 2020 in Australia. It was also more recently trademarked in the United Kingdom and Canada on July, 7, 2020.
It’s worth noting that trademarking a title doesn’t guarantee a localization for the game, as companies often trademark titles in case they decide to do so. However, considering it’s a smartphone game that is doing fairly well in Japan since launching last month, it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see it come over.
As for Dragon Quest Tact, it’s a strategy RPG where you lead monsters into battles across grid-based maps. It offers simple commands and gameplay for new players, but it also offers plenty of strategic depth for fans of the genre. After defeating monsters in battle, there’s a chance to befriend a monster to have it join your party.
Dragon Quest Tact will release for iOS and Android in Japan on July 16, 2020. You can check out a trailer for the game in our previous report.
