Yesterday, a new trailer for Higurashi When They Cry Mei was released, and at the same time, the official site was also updated with a detailed introduction of each of the characters. For those unfamiliar with Higurashi When They Cry May, it’s an upcoming smartphone game written by ARIA The Natural writer Kiichi Kanou. Kanou wrote it with respect to the original work by series creator Ryukishi07, and will coincide with the Higurashi When They Cry anime set to begin airing in October 2020.

Kazuho Kimiyoshi (CV: Mayu Sagara)
She’s the granddaughter of Kiichiro Kimiyoshi, the village chief of old Hinamizawa Village. In a disaster that happened in the year Showa 58, she lost the rest of her family, and is living at a dormitory while receiving support from distant relatives. She likes traditional Japanese food and has a habit of saying, “I’m sorry.”
Miyuki Akasaka (CV: Miyuki Sawashiro)
This is the daughter of the policeman Mamoru Akasaka. She has a great sense of perception and deduction passed down from her father, and is someone who thinks logically. She’s bright and friendly, and doesn’t get nervous even when talking to elders or strangers.
Nao Ootori (CV: Rie Takahashi)
Ootori is a young girl who has come from Tokyo. She seems to have visited Hinamizawa with a certain purpose in mind, but her true intentions are unknown. She has unshakeable self-confidence in herself and her sensibilities, and never drops her strong attitude.
Higurashi When They Cry Mei will release in Japan for iOS and Android devices in Summer 2020.
