It looks like things are going to get a little more challenging for the characters in The Last of Us Part 2. New trophies have appeared. Essentially, it seems The Last of Us Part 2 Permadeath and a Grounded difficulty are on the way, to allow people more customization options. The latter hints at the return of a The Last of Us mode. You can see the modes in your own trophy list by looking under the game’s Add-Ons portion of the list. [Thanks, PowerPyx!]
Grounded is a fairly self-descriptive feature. Its trophy is a Silver one currently classified as “Ultra Rare.” Should you complete The Last of Us Part 2 story on Grounded, you earn “Dig Two Graves.” As an example of what to expect, in The Last of Us, Grounded takes away Listen Mode, removes the HUD, makes foes smarter and stronger, cuts back on possible supplies, and takes away checkpoints.
As for The Last of Us Part 2 permadeath, that sounds self explanatory. The Bronze “You Can’t Stop This” trophy would be awarded if someone would “complete the story with any Permadeath setting.” If the feature works as it does in other games, that would mean dying would result in someone having to start over.
The Last of Us Part 2 is available for the PlayStation 4.
