Yet another Million Arthur series smartphone game is shutting down. Just months after Kou-Kyou-Sei Million Arthur ended service in May 2020, Square Enix announced that Kai-Ri-Sei Million Arthur is also being shutdown in Japan. The game will officially close down on September 30, 2020 at 1pm JST. Beginning today, Crystals used for gacha will no longer be available for sale in the in-game shop.
That said, for those who still want to experience the game, it’ll still be available in some form. Square Enix revealed that it is working on an offline version of the game that will keeps some of the original’s functions.
Here are the functions that will be available offline:
- Story viewer
- 3D model viewer
- Card viewer
- Alarm
- Mini-game
- Arthur profiles
(Note: Collaboration content will not be available in the offline version)
Out of all the games in the series, Kai-Ri-Sei has proved to be especially popular. First developed as a sequel to the original Kaku-San-Sei Million Arthur back in 2014, the game quickly surpassed the original’s success. Several of the characters, like Thief Arthur, have even made it into other games like SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy.
Kai-Ri-Sei Million Arthur is available on iOS and Android devices, but it will be shutdown on September 30, 2020.
