Sony is celebrating a hallmark for PlayStation Plus in July 2020. The service is now ten years old. As the PlayStation Blog noted, it launched back on June 29, 2010. So, to celebrate the occasion, there will be a little bit more this month. The PlayStation Plus July 2020 games are Erica, NBA 2K20, and Rise of the Tomb Raider, which gives folks three instead of the normal two. There will also be a free PlayStation 4 theme released at the beginning of July 2020, and a free online multiplayer weekend will be held for everyone July 4-5, 2020.
NBA 2K20 is, as you might expect, a basketball game. There are single-player options, like MyCareer, MyGM, and MyLeague, as well as multiplayer modes like standard versus and MyTeam. This entry also has all twelve WNBA teams. It launched in September 2019 and normally costs $59.99.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is the second game in the Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider reboot line. Set a year after the origina, it takes Lara on a journey to find a new legendary city: Kitezh. However, Trinity is also looking for the lost city in Siberia too. The 20 Year Celebration version, which includes all DLC and the PSVR Blood Ties mode, launched in October 2016 and normally costs $29.99.
The bonus game, Erica, is also relatively new. It is an FMV adventure game about a young woman being targeted by a group and dealing with someone potentially dangerous and violent coming after her. She returns to an institute where her father lived and she was raised, only to learn suspicious truths about her past. It came out in August 2019 and normally costs $9.99.
For those who haven’t grabbed the June 2020 PlayStation Plus games, you still have time. They will be available until July 6, 2020. They are Call of Duty: WWII and Star Wars Battlefront II.
