A surprise Japanese Kingdom Hearts trailer from Square Enix has offered up an array of upcoming details about the series’ games and other projects. One of the most interesting details is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it reveal of the Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road release date. At the very least, it seems like it will be available in Japan on June 22, 2020.
You can catch the Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road release date announcement in the trailer below. The portion of the video focused on the Xehanort-based storyline begins at about the 1:40 mark. Then, at the 2:48 point, the June 22, 2020 release date is revealed.
As a reminder, Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road is a prequel story focusing on characters like Xehanort, Eraqus, and a few new faces. It was originally supposed to appear in Spring 2020, but was slightly delayed by the pandemic. Square Enix has recently been sharing a lot of new information about it, like new screenshots. Also, as part of the celebrations, the company released iPhone, iPad, and Android wallpapers on Twitter that use the adventure’s key art.
Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road will come to both Android and Apple iOS devices on June 22, 2020 in, at the very least, Japan. People can play it within Kingdom Hearts: Union x, which is immediately available.
