Check out the new trailer for the Yo-kai Watch Jam – Yo-kai Academy Y game below:

The game is set in “Y Academy”, a top-class mammoth of an academy. Think of the academy as a giant school-city that has various areas that provide students with everything they need, starting with the Commerce Area that houses many essential businesses. The Academy Area is basically the core school area that features the main school building, cafeteria, tennis court, library, and gym. Y Academy is described as a “dream school that has it all”.

The Residential Area has the student dormitory, where we get to see the everyday lives of the students. There are 400 activities that the students can participate in through clubs and such. This helps bring up individual characteristics for the students and your job is to help them discover their talents. Three faction run the school: the Headmaster, the head of Disciplinary Committee, and the president of the student council. The three basically govern what goes on in the school and work together to make sure everything runs smoothly.

However, there’s also something mysterious going on at this school involving Yo-kai. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until next time to find out more about that. Lastly, the video finishes with a look at four categories for the students of IT, academics, athletics, and entertainment. Students have various characteristics but they’ll need your help enrolling based on their talents.

Yo-kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Academy Y will release digitally for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan in Summer 2020. The game will add multiplayer mode and more through post-launch updates.
