Crypton Future Media began the MIKU EXPO Stay Home Project on April 14, 2020. This project is open to participants from all around the world and aims to encourage fans of Hatsune Miku to have fun during the on-going COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
While Hatsune Miku will most likely for have to wait for her 2020 Coachella debut in light of current events, Crypton has made sure fans can still enjoy the most famous Vocaloid from the comfort and safety of home with the MIKU EXPO Stay Home Project. First up is its “Let’s Paint 2.0” web application. This website will let you paint a 3D MYMIKU, which is a mini-Miku model. The site can be accessed via mobile devices and PCs. Also, you can save your Miku model and load up a previously created Mikus too. Additionally, Crypton has designed this site with all levels of artists in mind, so even small children or non-artistically inclined fans can enjoy casually creating their own Miku model.
Crypton has created a hashtag specifically for Twitter and Facebook users who want to share their MYMIKU creations: #StayHomeWithMYMIKU. If you use the hashtag, Crypton might even share your Miku creation in the project’s showcase video.
Finally, Crypton will be holding a “Mini Song Contest” during the duration of the project. Both seasoned and new Vocaloid program users are encouraged to join. At the end of the project, any submitted songs will be published on the official Hatsune Miku Soundcloud in a playlist. Furthermore, there’s a grand prize for the best song. The winner will be able to have their music featured as background music in the project’s official showcase video.
