It seems Square Enix has once again tweaked its distribution methods for the next Final Fantasy game. A new Final Fantasy VII Remake preload date has been discovered by people who have purchased the game. Reports are showing up on sites like Reddit and Resetera suggesting the auto-download will now begin on April 2 or 3, 2020, depending on people’s regions.
Originally, the Final Fantasy VII Remake preload date had auto-downloads starting around April 7 or 8, 2020. This means people will have a few days head start on preparing the game so people can play the second it launches on April 10, 2020.

As a reminder, Square Enix has already taken measures to help alleviate any concerns people might have about Final Fantasy VII Remake’s launch due to COVID-19 coronavirus-related issues. Especially since it seemed physical copies could be delayed. For example, it began shipping out copies to people in Australia and Europe early in an attempt to try and get people their games on time. It also updated sharing guidelines on its official website, asking people not to stream or share images from the game ahead of April 10, 2020.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will come to the PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020. It seems the Final Fantasy VII Remake preloads may begin later this week.
