The video series puts together various interviews featuring game creators for Final Fantasy VII Remake. Episode 2 is about the story and characters, so we get to hear more from the original scenario writer Kazushige Nojima and more.

Episode 2 features the following key developers:

  • Yoshinori Kitase (Producer)
  • Kazushige Nojima (Story & Scenario)
  • Motomu Toriyama (Co-Director – Scenario Design)
  • Naoki Hamaguchi (Co-Director – Game Design / Programming)

The episode starts out with producer Yoshinori Kitase who looks back at the original release 23 years ago, and the many details he had forgotten. However, he still remembers a lot about the characters and finds it fascinating to be able to return to them again. After replaying the original version before starting work on Final Fantasy VII Remake, Kitase was surprised how much shorter the story is in Midgar compared to how he remembered it.

Kitase continues to explain that if you go straight through the original, the story in Midgar will be over after around seven to eight hours. This was much shorter than what he remembered. For this reason, the producer wants people to experience the iconic city in Final Fantasy VII Remake closer to the way he remembered it.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will release for PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020. Check out episode 1 of Inside Final Fantasy VII Remake in our previous report.
