Atlus jumped into the social game space with another version of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3. Persona 3 Social lets players collect personas on their cell phones through Mobage-town, a Japanese social network service that’s exclusive to mobile phones.
Players can take on quests and battle shadows with other players. Like most social games, Persona 3 Social is free to play. Atlus plans on monetizing the game through item transactions.
If you played any version of Persona 3 you probably noticed the main charaters are different. Shigenori Soejima, the art director on Persona 3 and Persona 4, created new ones just for Persona 3 Social. Service for the game started today.
