Ghost in the Shell is a series set in the fictional Japanese city of New Port City in Niihama prefecture in 2045. There, the Major’s Public Security Section 9 task-force solves and prevents crimes, all while living in a post-cyberpunk world full of highly skilled hackers and cyberization.
SAC-2045 is a big milestone in the series: it will be the first fully CGI series in the ghost in the Shell franchise. It will also unite motion capture tech, photo-realism, and realistic motion together into one animated series.
In the year 2045, after global capitalism has defaulted, Japan’s elite Section 9 begins conducting covert cyber operations.
Additionally, Major Motoko Kusanagi will be back in action in this series as the on-going main character of the Ghost in the Shell franchise. You’ll also get to see Batou, Togusa, and the very cute Tachikoma in the series. At this time, it seems that the series will also be released in parts: expect to see many familiar characters in Part 1 of SAC-2045.
