Something is going on with Super Mario and the world of Legos. On Mar10 Day 2020, which March 10th is always known as, Nintendo kicked things off with a teaser. It shared a tweet with a brief video of a blocky Mario with a question mark on his chest and a promise of some sort of Lego Super Mario collaboration.
Here’s a peek at the Twitter announcement suggesting something is afoot.

What’s interesting is that there has never been a Lego collaboration with the Super Mario property before. The previous deal had Basic Fun’s K’nex building block brand connected to the property. People could pick up blind bags with different Super Mario figures, with some of the more recent ones even having Super Mario Maker’s Builder Mario, Luigi’s Mansion’s Poltergust-wielding Luigi, and different building sets connected to titles like Mario Kart.
If this is alluding to a new line of toys, then the existing K’nex products could become more collectible. However, since there were no details, this Lego deal could have to do with other properties too. Considering the clip was animated, it could suggest shorts or perhaps even something more interactive.
No reveal date was mentioned for the Lego Super Mario tease.
