In 2019, BanG Dream! developer Craft Egg announced that its subsidiary Colorful Palette was developing a brand-new smartphone game featuring entertainer groups accompanied by Hatsune Miku and other Crypton Vocaloids that would be titled Project Sekai: Colorful Stage feat. Hatsune Miku. Pre-registration for the game will begin in the second half of April 2020. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
Additionally, more information regarding Project Sekai: Colorful Stage feat. Hatsune Miku’s features was revealed. Apparently, you’ll be able to freely change the characters that appear in the 3D music video and their outfits. An example of one of the costumes the cast can wear, drawn by illustrator Yuichi Murakami, was shown off with both concept art and a 3D model.
Much like many other smartphone rhythm games, there will also be a less intensive 2D mode you can play instead of the Project Sekai: Colorful Stage feat. Hatsune Miku 3D mode. The 2D mode will show a 2D music video made especially for the song you’re playing.
A new batch of songs that will be available to play in-game was also revealed. They include:
- ”Jishou Mushoku”
- ”Tell Your World“
- ”Doctor=Funk Beat”
- ”Happy Synthesizer”
- ”Blessing”
Neru was revealed as yet another collaborator for original songs on this project, and they’ll be composing a song for Project Sekai: Colorful Stage feat. Hatsune Miku‘s first event, Wonderland x Showtime. The game will have two main theme songs, with one composed by Giga and Mitchie M and the other by DECO*27 and Kemu Tsukamoto (Kemu).
Finally, a few event illustrations were shown off:
Project Sekai is in development for Apple iOS and Android devices. Pre-registration will begin in late April 2020. You can read more about the game’s story and groups in our previous report.
