By The next round of Nintendo Switch Online NES and SNES games have been announced for North America, Europe, and Japan. North America and Europe will be getting the SNES games Pop’n TwinBee and Smash Tennis, both of which are coming to North America for the first time, and the NES games Eliminator Boat Duel and Shadow of the Ninja. Japan will get Breath of Fire II and Pop’n TwinBee for the SNES and Atlantis no Nazo and God Slayer for the NES. They will all appear on February 19, 2020.
The for North American and European Nintendo Switch Online NES and SNES games all cover four different genres. Eliminator Boat Duel is a racing game from 1991, Pop’n TwinBee is a shoot’em up TwinBee game from 1993, Shadow of the Ninja is an action game from 1990, and Smash Tennis is a tennis game from 1993.
With Japan, we have a healthy mix too. Breath of Fire II, which appeared in other regions in the Nintendo Switch Online SNES libraries back in December 2019, is bringing the JRPG to the region. God Slayer is another familiar face, as it is the Japanese version of Crystalis that showed up alongside Breath of Fire II in other areas. Pop’n TwinBee is joining the collection there too. The only unique title is Atlantis no Nazo, a Konami platformer about an explorer looking for a missing mentor on a mysterious island. It is known for its difficulty and multiple paths and is one of the games on the Japanese Famicom Mini.
The new Nintendo Switch Online NES and SNES games will appear on February 19, 2020.
