The Wonderful 101 Kickstarter smashed its goals. The PlatinumGames title was fully funded within its first day, passing its $49,890 goal. Now, after passing the $50,000, $250,000, and $500,000 goals that would bring The Wonderful 101: Remastered to the Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4 respectively, two new stretch goals have been added. Each adds new sorts of modes.
The first stretch goal should be hit by February 4, 2020, at the rate The Wonderful 101 Kickstarter is going. It would add a Time Attack mode to The Wonderful 101: Remastered for $1 million. Details about it weren’t revealed, but its subtitle describes it as “a speedrunner’s dream.”
The second The Wonderful 101 Kickstarter stretch goal refers to Luka Alan Smithee, aka Wonder Goggles, who appeared in the original game. Should the crowdfunding campaign reach $1.5 million, he’ll get his own story. Luka’s First Mission will be a bit different from the rest of the 3D action game, as it will be a 2D side-scroller.
The Wonderful 101 Kickstarter will end on March 6, 2020. Since it has been fully funded, it has a tentative April 2020 release window for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. Also, remember that this is only the first of four announcements PlatinumGames is going to make.
