The match features Tsubasa Ozora lead Nankatsu Junior High School against Toho Academy. The game even made sure to give Toho captain Kojiro Hyuga his trademark sleeveless look.

The Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions gameplay trailer gives us a good look at how it plays, with flashy special moves and everything. Most of the gameplay revolves around a “Spirit Gauge” used to activate moves. These moves range from shot blocks to special dribbles.

“Special Skills” are some of the moves we see in the video. These are unique to characters and affect attributes and Spirit level. These are some of the things you’ll need to consider when putting together a team. You can always go with your favorite characters, but it’ll have a strategic element to make team compositions based on your play style.

There’s also a “V Zone” system, which is essentially a team morale system. A team gauge increases when you dribble past opponents or intercept the ball. Once this gauge maxes out, it enables you to activate the V Zone. This increases Spirit recovery rate and Kick Gauge increase rate. You can check out the full details in our previous report.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions releases for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2020. Check out the first trailer here.
