As director Masahiro Sakurai explained in the presentation, Byleth isn’t just an ordinary swordfighter – he or she will also wield the power of legendary lance, axe, and bow relics that are usually the preferred weapons of the house leaders after the timeskip. They aren’t part of a special gimmick like the other DLC Fighters, but rather a reference to Three Houses ability to basically use any weapons with any class. The only weapon type missing from the representation are the Grappling/Gauntlets weapons that were introduced in Three Houses.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available on Nintendo Switch. Byleth launches as part of Challenger Pack 5, and will release on January 28, 2020 for $5.99.

Update: Nintendo UK has released a screenshot of Kirby’s transformation for Byleth.
