This Week in Imports: Dragon Ball Z, Yakuza, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions Get Ready for Release

This week on Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, players will be able to live out life as Goku, from climactic fights of Dragon Ball Z to small things like fishing and eating Chi-Chi’s food to grow stronger. There’s also a surprising amount of characters from the original Dragon Ball, so old-school fans will also be in for a treat.

Standing on top alongside Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This latest entry in the Yakuza franchise is an RPG directly inspired by Dragon Quest, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t action-focused. Rather, characters battle in a living world that also has contextual attacks, such as knocking enemies out onto the street to be run over. It also features a brand-new story set several years after Yakuza 6, as well as a new cast, including new main character Ichiban Kasuga.

Next, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore returns to the stage after an underwhelming debut on the Wii U. This entry takes Shin Megami Tensei battle mechanics and adds in a bit of Fire Emblem flair with the weapon triangle, as well as Mirages that are like demons, but are Fire Emblem characters. The updated version adds in new dungeons and story content, plus DLC from the first release in the base game.

There’s also Kandagawa Jet Girls, a jetski racing game by Marvelous, featuring girls who work in pairs. Tracks are based off of the Kandagawa area in Japan, and Asuka and Yomi from Senran Kagura are cameo characters as well.

Finally, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV also releases this week. The Atelier Dusk Trilogy and The Alliance Alive HD Remaster also hit PC via Steam.

As a reminder, Siliconera gets a small portion pocket change from your purchases from our Play-Asia links below. You can also save $3 by using the code “SILICON” by using the coupon button at the payment method selection screen.
