Nintendo Switch Online subscribers hoping to get the exclusive Switch SNES controller before 2019 ends will be disappointed. The accessory is sold out. The January 2020 window is only noted on the North American product page. On the European listing, it states, “This product is currently unavailable. More stock will be arriving in early 2020, so please stay tuned for updates.”

The Nintendo Switch SNES controllers were first rumored to appear back in August 2019, when an FCC filing appeared. The controllers were then revealed as a Nintendo Switch Online-exclusive product for subscribers to purchase in September 2019. Unlike the similar NES controllers, which give people two at once, it is $29.99/£26.99 for one controller and each account can only purchase up to four.
