Unboxing Ghost Squad, wiring the Wii Zapper

Recommended Videos

The Wii Zapper just came out and if you want the plastic shell in Japan you only have one option at retail stores, the Ghost Squad bundle. Nintendo is selling additional Zappers online for 1500 yen plus 450 yen for shipping ($17), but it seems kind of pointless to get one if you don’t have a game designed for it. That’s right the extra shells do not come with Link’s Crossbow Training. See, sometimes North America and Europe get the better end of the stick.

Curious to see what you’re about to play with in a few weeks? Check past the break to see how to assemble the Wii Zapper.

Here’s the back of the Ghost Squad box.

Ghost Squad is tucked into the cardboard packaging.

The brand new zapper shell.

See those gray tabs? They hold the remote snugly into place by locking onto the two holes on the end of the remote. When you want to take the remote out of the Zapper you press down on the gray switch to release the tabs from the remote.

Setting up the nunchuk takes a little more work. First, you lock it in place by aligning the two holes on the nunchuck with the plastic prongs.

So where does the nunchuck’s cord go? Inside the back of the zapper. A piece of plastic slides out to open a compartment where you can neatly store the nunchuck’s cord.

It takes four loops to wrap the cable.

And now the final product is ready!
