Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story follows a magical girl named Iroha Tamaki. She formed a contract after her little sister, Ui, fell ill. However, after becoming a magical girl, Ui disappeared. From what Iroha can tell she is in Kamihama City. Once she got there, she encountered Homura Akemi, from the original Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Homura is looking for a way to save Madoka, so the two end up joining forces.

A preregistration program is currently in effect for Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story. Aniplex USA is keeping track of how many people preorder. There are 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, and 20,000 tiers. If the first three tiers are met, each one will award 50 Magia Stones to players. If 20,000 sign up, everyone will receive Homura Akemi (Glasses).
