Bandai Namco announced that they’re teaming up with Tamiya and CoroCoro Aniki to make a new smartphone game based on Mini 4WD, the nostalgic racing hobby featuring AA battery-powered miniature racing cars.

The Mini 4WD game has yet to get an official title, but it is being made for all fans of the hobby, from the older fans that joined during its boom in the ‘80s and ‘90s to the newer audience that has been expanding across various regions.

With Tamiya being involved in the development, they’re working on making it as realistic as possible, using 3D scans from the actual Mini 4WDs by Tamiya, and their actual sounds being recorded for the game.
